GERMAN CHOCOLATE OATMEAL CAKE 
3/4 c. butter
1 c. oatmeal
1/2 bar German chocolate
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1 1/8 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

ICING:

1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. butter
3 tbsp. light cream
1 egg
1 c. nuts
1 1/2 c. coconut

Put butter, oatmeal and German chocolate in a bowl and add boiling water. Let stand 20 minutes. Add brown sugar, white sugar and eggs and mix well. Add vanilla and mix. Sift together flour, salt and baking soda. Add together with other ingredients. Spread in 9 x 13 x 2 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Can be frosted with favorite chocolate icing or icing above.

If using icing above, warm ingredients so everything will blend well. Spread on cake and place under broiler for a few minutes.
