APRICOT BREAD 
1 c. dried apricots
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. butter
1 egg
1/4 c. water
1/2 c. orange juice
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cover dried apricots with warm water and let stand 30 minutes. Drain and cut with scissors into 1/4 inch pieces. Combine sugar, butter, and egg. Mix and stir in water and orange juice. Mix in flour, soda, and salt. Stir together. Add nuts and apricots. Pour in greased bread pan. Bake slowly for 1 hour.
