APRICOT BREAD | |
1 c. dried apricots 1 c. sugar 2 tbsp. shortening 1 egg 1/4 c. water 1/2 c. orange juice 2 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. chopped nuts 1/4 c. raisins Soak apricots in warm water for 30 minutes. Drain and cut up with scissors. Cream sugar, shortening and egg. Add water and orange juice. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and add to sugar mixture. Add chopped apricots, nuts and raisins. Allow to stand for 20 minutes. Bake in loaf pan at 350 degrees for one hour. |
