CHOCOLATE CAKE | |
2 1/2 c. cake flour 1 tsp. salt 5 eggs 1 sq. Hershey's chocolate 2 c. sugar 1 c. Bulgarian buttermilk 1 tsp. baking soda 1 stick butter 1 tbsp. boiling water Sift dry ingredients, except soda. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Melt chocolate and let cool; add to creamed mixture. Add to this, alternately, dry ingredients and 1 cup buttermilk. Separate eggs and add yolks to cake mixture. Beat whites until stiff and fold in whites and (1 teaspoon baking soda with 1 tablespoon boiling water) alternately until whites are well folded in. Pour into 3 greased 9 inch cake pans. Bake in oven approximately 25 minutes or until toothpick stick comes out clean. |
