BROWN RICE AND NUTS DISH 
1 c. rice
1 c. onion, chopped finely
2 c. broth or water
4-5 tbsp. butter
1/2-3/4 c. nuts and raisins (raisins are optional to use)
1/2 tsp. salt
Dash pepper

Roast nuts, raisins if used, in 1 tablespoon butter until nuts are golden and raisins are swollen; remove and set aside. Add onion to fat and stir until brown; remove and set aside.

Add rest of butter. Fry rice until almost dry or until all fat is absorbed (yellowish color) and add roasted nuts, raisins, salt, pepper to rice. Add broth or water; bring to boil. Reduce heat and cook until done (20 minutes). Let stand before serving (5 minutes).
