SAUSAGE ROLLS | |
1 beaten eggs 1/3 c. fine dry bread crumbs 1/4 c. finely chopped onion 1 lb. bulk pork sausage 1 (17 1/2 oz.) pkg. (2 sheets) frozen puff pastry, thawed In a bowl, combine egg, bread crumbs, and onion. Add sausage; mix well. Shape mixture into 8 (5 inch) long rolls. Place sausage rolls in a shallow baking pan. Bake in a 400 degree oven about 20 minutes or until done. Drain and cool on paper toweling. Cut each puff pastry sheet into quarters. For each pastry roll, place 1 sausage roll near one long side of a pastry quarter. Roll up jelly roll style. Seal edges and ends. Place in an ungreased 15 x 10 x 1 inch baking pan. Repeat with remaining sausage and pastry. Bake in a 425 degree oven about 20 minutes or until brown. To serve, cut each roll crosswise into 1 inch slices. Makes about 40. |
