SWEDISH GINGER COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. grated orange rind
2 tbsp. dark syrup
1 tbsp. water
3 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cloves

Mix together butter, sugar and orange rind. Add syrup and water. Sift together flour, soda, cinnamon, ginger and cloves and add to butter mixture. Chill for several hours. Roll out on lightly floured surface. Cut into desired shapes. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
