SWEDISH TEA CAKES (COOKIES) 
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. butter, softened
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. finely chopped or ground almonds
1/4 tsp. salt
Powdered sugar

Heat oven to 325 degrees. In large bowl, beat powdered sugar, butter and vanilla until light and fluffy. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup and level off. Add flour, almonds and salt; mix until dough holds together. Shape into 1" balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet 1" apart. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until set but not brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. Cool slightly; roll in powdered sugar. Cool completely. Roll again in powdered sugar. Makes 5 dozen.

I have made these, but I always use pecans instead of almonds. It gives it a rich flavor, been one of our family favorites for over 50 years. We make these at Christmas. Also I make as gifts and give away.
