VIRGINIA SPOON BREAD 
1 1/2 c. cornmeal
3 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 egg, beaten
1 tbsp. BLAIR butter flavoring
2 c. milk
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. sugar

Place cornmeal and butter in mixing bowl. Add boiling water, stirring until well moistened. Beat in egg, milk and flavoring. Combine and add to mixture baking powder, salt, flour, sugar and mix well. Pour batter into greased 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Bake at 450 degrees for about 30 minutes or until set and browned. Yields: 6 servings.
