7 - UP POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. vegetable shortening
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
1 tsp. lemon extract
3 c. flour
1 (7 oz.) bottle 7-Up

Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Add lemon extract. Add flour alternately with 7-Up. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 300 degree oven for 1 hour and 30 minute or until done. A glaze of confectioners' sugar, 7-Up and lemon juice may be poured over cake while still warm.
