CHOCOLATE MINT BAR COOKIES 
4 sq. unsweetened chocolate
2/3 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

Melt chocolate and shortening together. Remove from heat and add sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Blend well. Add flour, baking powder, salt, and mix well. Bake in greased 9 x 13 pan in 350 degree oven for approximately 25 minutes. Cool thoroughly. Frost with following Peppermint Frosting. 2 tbsp. cream or milk 1/2 c. soft butter 3/4 tsp. peppermint extract

Mix until smooth. Refrigerate; make following glaze. 2 tbsp. butter

Melt together and spread gently over cold frosting. Cool well until glaze hardens. Cut into small bars or squares.
