MAKES ITS OWN CRUST COBBLER | |
2 c. sugar, divided 1 egg, beaten 1/2 c. milk 3/4 c. self-rising flour 1 tbsp. melted butter 1 (16 oz.) can tart pitted cherries (or fresh), any fruit you can substitute Combine 1/2 cup sugar, egg, milk, flour and butter. Mix well. Pour into a greased 1 1/2 quart deep baking dish. Combine remaining 1 1/2 cups sugar and cherries, etc. in a saucepan, bring to a boil. Pour over batter. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes or until top is brown and crusty. |
