CHOCOLATE PINWHEELS 
3/4 c. shortening (part butter)
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 sqs. unsweetened chocolate (2 oz.)

Mix well shortening, eggs and vanilla. Blend flour, baking soda and salt and mix in. Divide dough into 2 parts. Into 1 part blend unsweetened chocolate melted and cooled. Chill both parts. Roll each into an oblong shape. Lay chocolate on top of white, roll together into oblong shape. Lay chocolate on top of white, roll together until 3/16 inch thick.

Roll up tightly beginning at wide side (roll between two sheets of wax paper). Chill roll and cut into 1/8 inch slices. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
