OVEN BEEF STEW | |
4 lbs. chuck, cubed 1/2 tsp. garlic salt 2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 tsp. marjoram 4 med. onions, sliced 6 med. carrots, sliced 2 tsp. instant beef bouillon 1 1/2 c. hot water 1/4 c. lemon juice 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce 1 (14 oz.) pkg. corn muffin mix Place beef in large baking pan. Combine garlic salt, salt, pepper, marjoram; sprinkle over meat. Arrange onions, carrots on top. Mix together bouillon, water, lemon juice and tomato sauce; pour over meat and vegetables. Bake at 350 degrees until meat is tender, about 2 hours. Prepare muffin mix according to directions. Drop by spoonful on top. Return to oven and bake 15 minutes more. |
