PEANUT BRITTLE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. white Karo syrup
1/2 c. water
1 lb. butter
1 lb. raw peanuts
1 tsp. baking soda

Using candy thermometer, boil sugar, syrup, and water to 180 degrees. Add butter. Boil mixture to 280 degrees. Stir constantly. Stir in peanuts. Boil to 310 degrees, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add baking soda and stir. Pour onto greased cookie sheet and cool. Invert cookie sheet to remove and break into small pieces. Use a heavy saucepan for best results.
