MARIE'S PEANUT BRITTLE 
2 c. raw peanuts
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. white Karo syrup
1 inch square wax

Cook on a high fire in an iron skillet. Add everything at once.

While it is coming to a boil, butter a cookie sheet and put 2 teaspoons of cooking soda in a dish nearby.

Start timing when it gets to a good boil. Cook for 10 minutes; after 5 minutes keep stirring.

Then remove from fire and beat. Add soda. Stir well, but quickly pour on a buttered cookie sheet.

Let it get cold and break into pieces.
