ENGLISH APPLE PIE 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
3 tbsp. water
1/2 c. chopped pecans
4 lg. apples, peeled, cored and sliced (approx. 6 c.)
1/2 c. sugar
Whipped cream

Cream butter and brown sugar. Stir in flour, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and water until smooth and thick. Stir in pecans. Place apples in an 8x8 inch pan. Mix 1 teaspoon cinnamon with 1/2 cup sugar. Sprinkle cinnamon mixture over apples. Spoon pecan mixture over apples. Bake at 375 degrees for 45-50 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve warm in bowls, topped with whipped cream. Serves 8- 10.
