Sugar Free Applesauce Spice Cookies

Absolutely delicious!! I was worried that they wouldn't be sweet enough as there isn't a sugar substitute in there - but they're great and when you bite into a raisin you get that instant hit of sugar - I might put a few more in next time!!!

Love this recipe! The first time I made it i left out the nuts and did dried cherries instead of raisins. They were a little too spongy for my taste, so I made them again with half the apple sauce and they were great! I have now made them with cocoa powder instead of the spices, half the apple sauce again, cherries instead of raisins and no nuts and they are awesome. If you like bittersweet chocolate this is a great variation to try.

Thank you Cooks.com for this recipe, and Vic K for the review with helpful tips! I did use half of the applesauce, and I used only 3/4 cup of raisins, but I added 1 tablespoon of coconut sugar. These are great AND diabetic friendly! I was making them for a church function where diabetics would also be present. I'm excited about how good they are!!!
