SQUASH-APPLE BAKE 
2 lb. butternut squash
1/4 c. butter, melted
1/2 tsp. salt
2 baking apples, cored
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. mace

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cut squash into 1/2" thick slices, removing rind and seeds. Put squash into ungreased 11"x7" baking pan. Mix flour, sugar, butter and seasonings. Slice apples into 1/2" thick slices. Scatter apple slices over squash, top with the sugar mixture. Cover with foil. Bake 55 to 60 minutes, until squash is tender. Serves 6.
