FRUIT SLICES 
1 c. butter
1 3/4 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 can pie filling of your choice (cherry, peach, etc.)

Cream butter and sugar, beat well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Add vanilla. Then sifted dry ingredients gradually, beating well. Spread all but 1 1/2 cups of dough in large 11x17 inch greased pan. Spread 1 large can pie filling to within 1 inch from edge of the pan. Place remaining dough by spoonfuls over the top of pie filling. Bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes. When cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar. (I use a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch sheet pan.)
