MY MOTHERS MEAT LOAF
2 lbs ground beef
1 lb. sage pork sausage
1 tsp. salt (optional)
1 tsp. pepper (optional)
2 eggs
1 small onion
2 cups crushed cornflakes
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup catsup
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 green pepper

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cut the onion into small pieces. Take the ground beef and sage sausage and mix together well, using your clean hands works best.

Add the onion, eggs, milk, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce and corn flakes and mix everything together really good to distribute. Pour into a baking pan or casserole dish and form into a loaf. Then if you like, put a little more catsup on the top and spread it around. Cut the green pepper so it makes rings and lay them on top of the loaf to make a nice colorful dish. Before cooking you may want to add about a 1/4 cup of water to the bottom of the dish.

Bake uncovered for one and a half hours.
