SNICKERDOODLE COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
4 tsp. sugar
1-1/2 c. sugar
2-3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
4 tsp. ground cinnamon and butter

Cream the shortening and 1-1/2 cup sugar and eggs until fluffy, combine flour, cream of tartar, salt and baking soda. Stir into creamed mixture, stir in vanilla. Shape into balls. Combine remaining sugar and cinnamon, mixing well. Roll each ball in mixture. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, flatten with fork.

Bake 400°F for 8 minutes.
