SNICKERDOODLES (COOKIES) 
1 c. soft shortening, part butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda

Mix first 3 ingredients well, then add flour, cream of tartar, and soda. Roll into balls about the size of a small walnut. Then roll balls in a mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon.

Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake until lightly browned 8-10 minutes at 400 degrees.
