BREAKFAST CASSEROLE | |
12 to 16 slices of bread (Pepperidge Farm or Arnold Bread is better than soft bread) 2 c. cubed ham 2 c. cubed cheese (Cheddar or Colby) 3 c. milk 6 eggs 1/2 tsp. dry mustard 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. corn flakes 1/2 c. melted butter Cut crusts from bread. Place a layer of 6 to 8 bread slices in a 9 x 13 inch casserole. Sprinkle ham and cheese cubes over bread. Place layer of bread on top of ham and cheese. Mix eggs, milk, mustard and salt; pour over ingredients in casserole. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight. (If possible, bring to room temperature before baking.) Sprinkle with corn flakes and pour melted butter over that. Bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour. Let sit for 5 to 10 minutes before cutting. |
