WESTERN CASSEROLE | |
1 lb. ground beef 1 (16 oz.) can whole kernel corn, drained 1 (16 oz.) can kidney beans, drained 1 (10 oz.) can condensed tomato soup 4 oz. sharp process cheese, shredded (1 c.) 1/4 c. milk 1 tsp. instant minced onion 1/2 tsp. chili powder 1 pkg. refrigerated biscuits (10 biscuits) 2 tbsp. butter 1/4 c. yellow cornmeal Brown beef in skillet. Stir in corn, kidney beans, tomato soup, cheese, milk, onion, and chili powder; bring to boiling mixture. Put into 2 quart casserole. Bake, uncovered, at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Dip the refrigerated biscuits in melted butter, then in cornmeal. Place around edge of casserole mixture; bake 20 minutes longer, or until biscuits are golden. Makes 5-6 servings. |
