CRUNCHY APPLE PIE (ONE CRUST) 
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. butter

Line single crust in pie shell. Fill with 1/3 of the above mixture. Peel apples, slice and put over mixture. Spoon remaining mixture over top of apples. Bake at 400 degrees for 50-55 minutes. (9 inch pie)

This recipe is delicious! I admit I added 1 cup of cranberries, but it is the crust that forms on top and the balance of sugar and butter that make this pie so delicious. My boyfriend said that this was the best apple pie he ever had and I agree.
