1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
2 c. applesauce
1 c. raisins

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs and beat well. Sift together flour, spices, salt, and soda. Add alternately with applesauce to creamed mixture. Add raisins. Drop by spoonful onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes or slightly brown on the edges.
