CHILI CON CARNE PIE 
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
2 tbsp. oil
1 can chili beans
1 tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. grated cheese
1 sm. can tomatoes

Saute onion and beef in oil. Stir in other ingredients. Place in shallow 2 quart casserole dish. Sprinkle with cheese. Top with topping.

TOPPING:

3/4 c. cornmeal
1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. oil
1 egg
1 tsp. parsley
1/2 c. milk

Combine all ingredients and spoon over top or edge of dish. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. 8 servings.
