SQUASH ROLLS
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. scalded milk
1 box frozen winter squash
1 tsp. salt
5 c. flour
1 yeast pkg. (or 1 tbsp. dry yeast) dissolved in 1/2 c. warm water

Cream shortening and sugar; then mix in rest of ingredients. Let rise on counter overnight (or about 9 hours). In the morning, punch down and form into small balls and put in pan. Let rise until doubled in size, about 2 hours. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

This is an old family recipe, and the rising times are very flexible.
