SQUASH YEAST ROLLS | |
1/2 c. shortening 1 c. milk, scalded 1/2 c. sugar 2 tsp. dry yeast 1 c. squash 2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. lukewarm water 6 c. all-purpose flour Put hot milk in bowl, add shortening, stir until melted, add squash, sugar, and salt. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Stir in flour. Cover with towel and let rise until double. Punch down and let rise again. Form dough into balls or rolls and place in greased baking pan; allow to double. Bake at 400°F for 20 to 25 minutes. |
