IRISH BREAD II 
2 c. regular flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. milk
1/4 c. vinegar
6 tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. raisins (optional)

Sift flour, baking soda, salt and sugar together; add raisins, if desired. Cut in shortening. Mix milk with vinegar and add to flour and butter mixture. Roll into a ball. Pat into greased 8 inch round pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes. Score top into eighths.
