GRANDMA'S SCOTTISH SHORTBREAD 
1 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 c. sifted all-purpose flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. WITH YOUR HANDS, cream butter and sugar. Do not over work. Gradually sift flour into butter mixture, continuing to mix after each addition. When all flour has been added and dough comes clean from the bowl, turn out on lightly floured surface. Knead 1 minute.

On a cookie sheet, pat into a circle 1/2 to 1 inch thick. Prick top and outer edge. Bake 30 minutes. Cut into squares while hot. When cool, store in tin box.
