FAVORITE RHUBARB OR APPLE CAKE | |
1 egg 1 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. shortening 1/2 c. buttermilk 2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 1 1/2 to 2 c. rhubarb (finely diced or apple if desired) Cream sugar, egg, shortening; add dry ingredients with milk. Fold in rhubarb. Pour into 9x13 pan. Mix the following and sprinkle over top. TOPPING: 1/2 c. white sugar 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 c. nuts Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. |
