CARDAMOM CHRISTMAS WREATH 
1 pkg. yeast
1/4 c. warm water
1/2 c. warm milk
3 tbsp. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground cardamom
2 eggs
1 tsp. grated lemon peel
3 1/2 c. unsifted flour

Add flour and beat until smooth. Turn out and knead 5-10 minutes. Place in greased bowl. Let rise 1 1/2 hours. Prepare filling and refrigerate. 1/4 c. flour 2 tbsp. sugar 1/4 c. red cherries 1/4 c. green cherries 1/2 tsp. lemon peel 3/4 tsp. almond flavoring

Blend butter, flour, and sugar. Add cherries, lemon peel, and almond flavoring. Roll dough to 9x30 inches. Crumble filling and scatter over dough. Roll up and seal lengthwise. Cut roll in half. Keep cut sides up. Braid with cut sides up. Seal ends. Place cut side up on greased pan. Shape into wreath. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes and glaze.

GLAZE:

2/3 c. unsifted powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
3 tsp. water
