NEW ENGLAND STYLE BAKED BEANS 
1 1/2 lb. dry navy beans
1 lb. smoked ham or ham hock or 1/2 lb. bacon
1/2 chopped onion
1/2 c. maple syrup
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 c. brown sugar

Completely soften beans as directed on package. Reserve 1 cup liquid from beans. Drain off the rest of the liquid. Put beans in crock pot. Add all the remaining ingredients plus reserve liquid. Stir. Cook over low heat for 10-12 hours or cook over high heat for 4-5 hour. Makes 6-8 servings. Great syrup beans!
