1 lb. red kidney beans
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. dry mustard
piece of salt pork

Pick beans over and discard bad ones. Wash beans well and put in bean pot, cover with water. Add the sugar and dry mustard. Stir well and let set overnight. In the morning, add salt pork (scored with slits) and bake in 350 degree oven for about 7 hours or until soft.
