BROWN SUGAR POUND CAKE | |
1 (16 oz.) box light brown sugar 1 c. white sugar 1 1/2 c. butter 5 lg. eggs 3 c. flour 1 c. milk 1 c. chopped pecans 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1/2 tsp. baking powder Cream sugars and butter at medium speed. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg. Reduce mixer to low speed. Add flour and milk alternately. Add pecans, vanilla and baking powder; mixing well. Line tube pan grease and flour. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Cool completely. CARAMEL ICING FOR BROWN SUGAR CAKE: 1 c. firmly packed light brown sugar 1/2 c. butter 1/3 c. evaporated milk 2 c. confectioners' sugar 1/2 c. chopped pecans |
