SARA'S FISH STEW 
1/2 c. olive oil
1/2 c. chopped onion
5 minced garlic cloves
1/4 c. chopped parsley
1 tsp. dry basil
1 tsp. dry oregano
1/2 tsp. turmeric or saffron
1 (28 oz.) can plum tomatoes
1 1/2 c. dry white wine
1 1/2 lb. cod or haddock, cut in 1 inch chunks
1/2 lb. scallops, halved
1/2 lb. cocktail shrimp
1 (6 oz.) can minced clams
Salt and pepper to taste

Saute onion in the olive oil. Add parsley, basil, oregano and turmeric. Add canned tomatoes and wine. Stir and simmer for 5 minutes. Add fish, scallops and clams (with clam juice). Simmer until fish is tender (about 20 minutes).
