SAUSAGE MACARONI CASSEROLE | |
1 c. macaroni 1/2 tsp. dry mustard 1/2 tsp. caraway seeds 1 onion, med., chopped 1/4 lb. cheddar cheese, grated 1 lb. sausages, Italian or kielbasa, cooked 3/4 c. milk Cook macaroni in boiling, salted water to which 1 tablespoon cooking oil has been added. Cook until tender, drain. Add mustard and caraway seeds. Place half of macaroni in well buttered casserole dish. Top with half the onion and half the cheese. Cut sausages into 1 inch slices. Place over onion and cheese. Pour milk over all. Cover with remaining macaroni. Put the rest of the onion and cheese on top. Heat in preheated 350 degree oven for about 30 minutes. Serve with layered vegetable salad and hard rolls. Serves 4. |
