SAUSAGE AND MACARONI CASSEROLE 
1 lb. sausage
Dash of salt
2 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped onion
2 tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 box elbow macaroni
3 or 4 slices American cheese

Brown sausage, green pepper, and onion. Set aside to cool. Put 2 tablespoons sausage fat in skillet. Add flour, salt and pepper. Gradually stir in milk. Stir until thick. Cool macaroni until tender, then drain.

In a buttered baking dish, alternate layers of macaroni, sausage and cheese. Pour sauce over top. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Makes 6 servings.
