SAUSAGE - MACARONI CASSEROLE | |
1 lb. bulk sausage 1 med. onion, chopped 1/2 green pepper, chopped 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 c. milk 1 (8 oz.) pkg. elbow macaroni, cooked and drained 2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese Saute sausage, onion, and green pepper in skillet. Pour off drippings. Add flour and salt, blending well. Gradually add milk; cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Stir in macaroni and 1 cup cheese. Spoon mixture into a lightly greased 1 1/2 quart casserole; sprinkle remaining cheese on top of casserole. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. 6 servings. |
