PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. Skippy peanut butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt (optional)
Sugar, nuts, chocolate kisses, jam or jelly

In mixer bowl at medium speed beat first 6 ingredients until fluffy. At low speed beat in next 4 ingredients. Shape into 1 inch balls, roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 - 15 minutes or until brown. Immediately press nuts or candies into cookies or press with thumb and fill with jam. Makes 6 dozen. Bake up to 1 week ahead.
