GU MA BANG (CHINESE) 
4 c. flour
1 1/4 c. shortening
1 egg
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 c. sugar
Sesame seeds

Mix ingredients and knead thoroughly. (Add a little flour if needed.) Take off small pieces size of almonds or walnuts. Roll in smooth round balls, then in sesame seeds. Bake on sheets 1-inch apart.

NOTE: Walnuts, almonds, or raisins may be substituted for nuts.
