SCOTCH SHORT BREAD 
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. flour

Cream butter and sugar. Add flour. Press onto cookie sheet to 1/2 inch thick. Prick all over with fork. Bake at 300 degrees for 50 minutes. Cookie will be soft when baked. Cut into squares. As cookies cool, they will harden.
