GINGER COOKIES 
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
4 tbsp. molasses
1 egg
2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
Pinch of salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. clove, powdered
1 tsp. ginger

Mix dry ingredients. Cream sugar, shortening and egg. Add to dry ingredients and mix well. Roll into small balls (1 teaspoon) and roll in granulated sugar. Place balls on cookie sheets 1 inch apart. Do not flatten. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
