1 c. butter
2/3 c. granulated sugar or brown sugar depending on what flavor you want
42 soda crackers

Butter a 10 1/2 x 15 inch pan and lay out crackers in single layer on bottom. Mix butter, sugar together and boil over low heat for 1 minute. Pour mixture over crackers. Sprinkle with sliced almonds. Bake 375 degrees 10 minutes. Remove immediately. Cut immediately and store in airtight container.

Variation:

Pour syrup over crackers. Bake, frost with 1 (12 ounce) package of chocolate chips immediately on taking out of oven. Sprinkle with slivered almonds and cut immediately.
