GUMDROP COOKIES 
1 c. Crisco
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
2 c. quick cooking oats
1 c. coconut
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. pecans
1 c. gumdrops of same or different flavors, cut in sm. pieces

Thoroughly cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs and beat well. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Blend. Add oats, coconut and gumdrops and pecans, and mix with spoon until well blended.

Roll dough into small balls. Place on greased cookie sheet. Press each ball with a fork. Bake in moderate oven 350 degrees for about 10 minutes. These improve in flavor if stored for a few days. Serves 3- 6 dozen.
