OATMEAL & GUMDROP COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. gum drops, cut in sm. pieces
2 c. quick-cooking oats
1 c. shredded coconut

Blend shortening and sugars. Beat in eggs. Add flour, baking powder, soda, salt and mix well. Add gum drops, oats and coconut. Mix together. Place rounded teaspoonful on cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
