OATMEAL GUMDROP COOKIES 
1 c. orange slice gumdrops, chopped in sm. pieces and mixed with 1/2 c. flour to separate pieces
1 1/2 c. flour (not counting flour used with gumdrops)
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. Crisco or butter
1 c. light brown sugar, packed firmly
1 c. white granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 oz. (1 can) flaked coconut
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
2 c. raw quick cooking oats

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease cookie sheets.

2. Sift flour, soda and salt. Set aside.

3. In large bowl of electric mixer, beat butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy.

4. At low speed, beat in flour mixture.

5. By hand, stir in coconut and gumdrops and oats. Stir until well blended.

6. Drop by teaspoons onto cookie sheets.

7. Bake 12 minutes. Remove to wire rack and cool. Store covered tightly. Makes 5 dozen medium small cookies.
