CHICKEN FRIED STEAK AND GRAVY | |
Cube steaks as many as needed 1 c. flour Dash of salt Dash of pepper Dash of garlic salt 1 egg 3/4 c. of milk, approximately Oil or bacon grease Milk In a frying pan pour approximately 3/4 inch of oil and heat lightly on stove. Pour flour onto plate and season with salt, pepper and garlic salt. Break egg into a shallow bowl add milk and beat. Dip meat into egg mixture then into flour on both sides, brown steak on both sides. When all steaks have been browned add a little water approximately 1/3 cup and cover and simmer for about 20 minutes. Remove steaks and keep warm. Add flour mixture to frying pan and slowly add as much milk as needed for thick gravy. |
